Into The Glace

Overview

In this project, we were tasked with creating a hypothetical film, with an imaginary budget and had to come up with a full high end fashion film.

Alexander McQueen, born in 1969, is a London-based fashion line named after one of the most creative and ambitious fashion designers in British and international history.

Prior to launching his own fashion line in 2004, McQueen devoted his intelligence and creative skills to the Louis Vuitton Givenchy fashion line. Not only did McQueen become one of the most renowned fashion designers of the early 2000s, but he also won the British Fashion Council’s Designer of the Year award four times, which reflects his dedication to designs that go beyond the boundaries of regular high-end fashion.

Before his death in 2010, McQueen achieved what many designers take years to master and perfect. He opened stores internationally in 2003, in popular fashion-oriented cities such as New York City, Milan, London, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

Throughout this magazine, you’ll find the majority of these images, created by myself, are used with AI – this is a new type of technology in creative spaces to help enable people to explore a variety of new possibilities for those not only in the fashion industry, but neighbouring industries and potentially, everyday people. Not only is it the fascination I have with AI and what it could potentially evolve into in the future, but I also feel it is so important to share stories about real everyday creatives within the LGBTQ+ community, more specifically the South West, where there is a lack of media representation in the current market. In addition to this, I felt it was important to highlight those who have enabled LGBTQ+ creatives to thrive in the indsutry, by pioneers such as Alexander McQueen and Leigh Bowery.
